WHAT IS VAGINAL DRYNESS ? AND HOW DOES IT AFFECT TO YOUR LIFE ?

There are glands which make secretion in the entrance of the vagina.Most widely-known glands among them, are "Bartholin's glands " which situated on either side of the vaginal entrance and "Skene glands" which surround uretral orifis above.Characteristic of both glands is to provide lubrication during intercourse.Vaginal lubrication is getting wet of the vagina by liquids which secreted from vaginal glands and cells which formed to vaginal wall.During the intercourse, sometimes, insufficient lubrication can happen from following reasons.

Reasons of vaginal dryness are as follows ;

- Insufficient sexual stimulation
- Sexual frigidity
- Sexual incompatibility with partner,dialog problems and feeling of distrust.
- Period of pregnancy
- Period of lactation
- Period of confinement after childbirth
- Period of menopause
- Vaginal infections
- Deformation of vaginal flora
- Increasing of milk hormone ( Hyperprolactinemia )
- Stress periods
- Using of condom
- Wearing so much tampons,pessary and putting medicines into the vagina
- Washing of inner part of vagina ( Vaginal shower )
- Using of some medicines

Because of above mentioned reasons, vaginal dryness has been happening and then, this situation cause painful intercourse ( Dyspareunia ), no sufficient pleasure during intercourse,avoiding of intercourse ( refusing of lovemaking ) by woman ,no climax and away from her husband.Namely,sexual intercourse is not on the expected plane,although, for couples who want to have a baby,vaginal dryness is a problem which will create difficulty.Because, sufficient lubrication facilitates going of sperms towards into the uterus during the sexual intercourse.

PLEASE ATTENTION ; VAGINA SHOULD BE LUBRICATED FOR A HEALTHY SEXUAL INTERCOURSE....

During period of vaginal dryness, using of water based lubricant gels is being recommended by authorized health professionals.
